Home furnishings and furnishings for sale in South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria are listed here for the first time by the NSW Government.
A total of 3,000 homes are now listed in NSW, including the home of Australia’s most famous actor and former prime minister John Howard, as well as the home he shared with his wife Anne-Marie, and their two children, James and Sarah.
The NSW Government says it will now be publishing all the information about each home it publishes.
Home furnishings will be available from September 12 and are priced between $400,000 and $600,000.
“Our goal is to make the most affordable home and furnish the best,” Mr Howard said in a statement.
Nsw’s Housing Minister Scott Emerson said the information would give people the best information possible.
The NSW Government also published information on the cost of housing for people earning less than $80,000 a year, and the cost for those earning more than $110,000 to help people get into and stay in affordable housing.
Mr Emerson said he hoped the information had made people aware of the challenges people faced, and he hoped they would be encouraged to consider buying a home.
“It’s a challenge that people face every day, particularly in the housing market,” he said.
While the NSW data was released on Thursday, it was not immediately clear how many of the homes had already been advertised, or how many people had actually bought the homes.
In South Australia the government announced a range of housing assistance packages to help those with a low income.
South Australia Housing Minister David Poots said people in need of help were urged to go to the Housing Services Information Centre and contact the local authority to find out how much they can receive.
