Donna Shire, the company that owns the furniture store in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood, is scrambling to get all its furnishings back in stock, after several of them were thrown out by customers.
The items that were thrown away include a pair of leather gloves and a pair for a mannequin, as well as a wooden chair and a chair for a woman, the Associated Press reported.
The company’s chief executive, Lisa Bessette, told Reuters she doesn’t know why the items were thrown.
The manager of the Donna Home Furnishings in New Jersey said she didn’t see any problem with the items being thrown out.
The company’s stock has plunged since the story broke, falling more than 80 percent since Thursday, the AP reported.
